FOUNDERS OF BENGKEL BAJU
Ricca & Darwin

“My husband and I started our own label since 2005 in Bali and 3 years later we tried our luck to build our own workshop Bengkel Baju. With the power of word of mouth our business grew bigger. We learnt a lot along this journey. With great passion in the fashion industry we try our best to allocate our customers’ needs and work closely with them to find a solution through good communication and always putting quality as the priority above everything.”

“Bengkel Baju was established in 2009. We produce ladies, mens and kids wear. Our simple vision and mission is to grow our business by being a socially conscious factory with the simple principles— fair wages ,minimal to zero waste, aswell as eco-friendly fabrics and practices. We treat our workers and our customers like family in a professional way and support each other with good communication. For me, communication is very important. To listen and understand customer’s needs according to me and my workers’ capability.”

Owner & Founder
Hi everyone. My name is Tatiana, I moved to Bali when I was 7 years old from Reunion Island with my parents and I started Taje when I was 16 years old in 2013 and it has been such a beautiful experience, I am overwhelmed by the love support from all of you since it started. My next mission for Taje was to align my brand with my beliefs and lifestyle which are everything to do with environmental factors and sustainability such as a zero-waste & plant based lifestyle, this meant that my brand had to follow these values and beliefs or I was not prepared to continue contributing to polluting the world through my business, luckily I found Nylon recycled from fishing nets collected in our oceans and I decided to source this fabric for the new collection and go plastic-free with a concept of using as little waste as possible. Our rebranding follows a sustainable movement & offers brand transparency. My goal with this new collection is to offer people a sustainable option for swimwear and awareness to switch from fast-fashion to slow-fashion as well as supporting small local brands. Being more conscious of what fashion companies we support and being aware of how our clothes are fabricated is a huge next step in our lifestyle & evolution. I am hoping to make this switch more accessible to people who want to make less of an impact on our planet to lead a more eco-concious, minimalistic and “low-waste” lifestyle. If you want to know who you are supporting please feel free to follow me @tatiana_ferguson on instagram. We also donate our funds to various environmental organizations. Your support and every sale has changed my life drastically and made everything in my life possible, I want to thank every one of you for supporting me, I love you guys.
